Capacity Building Workshops

In order to develop human resources and to equip the officers with understanding of their job assignments, various Capacity Building workshops are run by the College. These workshops are aimed to enable the officers to perform their duties effectively and to achieve the organizational goals in befitting manner.

Use of Hydrolic Cutter

A capacity building workshop on the topic “Use of Hydraulic Cutter” held at NH&MP Training College Sheikhupura. NH&MP officers from Motorway Zone, N-5 North and Central Zones attended the workshop. The workshop was organized to build and enhance the capacity of the field officers of NH&MP for more effective and quick response to save the lives of road-users while dealing an accident. During the workshop, the officers were trained to effectively use the Hydraulic Cutter. A comprehensive practical exercise was also conducted at the end of a theoretical session conducted in an interactive manner.

Coure Values of NH&MP (Honesty,Courtesy, Help)

A capacity building workshop on the topic “Core Value of NH&MP” held at NH&MP Training College Sheikhupura. NH&MP officers from Motorway Zone, N-5 North and Central Zones attended the workshop. Purpose of the workshop was to motivate the field officers to adhere to the core values of NH&MP i.e. Honesty, Courtesy and Help. It was a friendly and interactive session to share the experiences of field officers especially in dealing with the road-users. At the end of the workshop, participants appreciated this effort through positive feedback.

First Aid Rescue & Recovery Managemant

The workshop was held at NH&MP Training College. NH&MP officers from Motorway Zone, N-5 North and Central Zones attended the workshop. The workshop was organized to build and enhance the capacity of the field officers of NH&MP for more effective and quick response to save the lives of road users while dealing an accident or any untoward incident. During the workshop, the officers were trained to effectively provide First Aid to injured persons. A comprehensive practical exercise was also carried out at the end of a thorough discussion during an interactive session. At the end of the workshop, participants appreciated this effort through positive feedback. The session was expected to improve the skills of participants to deal casualties more professionally.

Supervision, Managemant & Leadership

A capacity building workshop on “Supervision, Management & Leadership” was held at NH&MP Training College Sheikhupura. NH&MP officers from Motorway Zone, N-5 North and Central Zones attended the workshop. Purpose of the workshop was to discuss new concepts of Supervision, Management & Leadership with the officers of NH&MP to enhance their management capabilities. Different characteristics of an effective & efficient leadership & management were shared with the participants. The officers were encouraged to give vent to their hidden qualities of a good leader or manager through different work sheets. Different proposals were noted down for consideration and submission to high-ups. The participants provided following feedback: “This particular workshop should be mandatory for all CPOs and Admin Officers of NH&MP, so that they can practice the new and effective ideas of management & leadership. Duration of the workshop should be extended to 02- 03 days to learn in detail the new concepts of management.”

Role & Responsibilities of

MTO

A capacity building workshop on “Role and Responsibilities of MTO” was held at NH&MP Training College Sheikhupura. NH&MP officers from Motorway Zone, N-5 North and Central Zones attended the workshop. The workshop was carried out to enhance the capacity of NH&MP MTOs (Motor Transport Officers). Focus of the workshop was to build capacity of participating officers in properly maintaining records of vehicles, maintaining vehicles, troubleshooting their faults and making estimates of accidental vehicles. In this regard a case study was also presented and the participants were made to practically analyze it and make its cost estimates. Dy. Commandant of the College, SSP Khurram Shahzad Haider PSP, also shared his views with the participants about the importance of the workshop. During the interactive session, the officers shared the difficulties related to their job and they were told about comprehensive methods to address the difficulties by practical activities. At the end of the workshop, participants appreciated this effort through positive feedback. e.g. “This session will add into the skills of participants to effectively and efficiently perform their duties. As, the topic is related to the key performance area of NH&MP, so such workshops should be arranged at regular intervals.”

Road Safety & NHSO-2000

A two days’ capacity building workshop on Road safety and NHSO was held at NH&MP Training College Sheikhupura. NH&MP officers from Motorway, North and Central zones attended the said workshop. The basic theme for carrying out the subject workshop was to enhance the capacity of NH&MP field officers for enabling them to perform their duties more effectively, confidentially and efficiently. Dy. Commandant of the college, Khurram Shahzad Haider also took feedback from the participants and expressed his views regarding the importance of the workshop. During the interactive session, the participants shared their experiences and put up valuable questions for acquiring to-the-point and valid knowledge of various sections of NHSO and modules of Road Safety. At the end of the workshop, all the participants appreciated the holding of the workshop through positive feedback.

Wireless Comunication & Effective Use of 

Public Adress System

A capacity building workshop on “Wireless Communication & Effective Use of Public Address System” was held at NH&MP Training College Sheikhupura. NH&MP officers from Motorway zone, N-5 North and Central zones attended the workshop. The workshop was organized to enhance the capacity of field officers of NH&MP to use wireless and public address system effectively during their duty. During the interactive learning sessions, the participants contributed with interest by giving valuable suggestions and sharing their practical field experiences which are documented as under:

  • This session will add into the skills of participants to use wireless and public address system effectively during their duties.
  • Such workshops should be mandatory for all field officers as well as wireless operators to perform their duty efficiently.
  • Duration of the workshop should be extended to 02 days and such workshops should be carried out at Sector & Beat level.

Speed Measuring Equipment (SME)

A capacity building workshop on “Speed Measuring Equipment (SME)” was held at NH&MP Training College, Sheikhupura. NH&MP officers from Motorways, N-5 North and Central zones attended the workshop. Purpose of the workshop was to enhance capacity of field officers to use Speed Measuring Equipment effectively during their duty. During the interactive learning sessions, the participants were introduced with effective methods of speed measurement, recording the violations on road and troubleshooting of the in use system. All the participants contributed with interest by giving valuable suggestions and sharing their practical field experiences which are documented as under: “It was very interesting to know about the history of speed checking equipment in NH&MP. Now the participants are able to perform calibration and alignment of SME. The practical session was very useful to enhance the skills of speed measurement and movie recordings. Such workshops should be mandatory for all field officers who are performing their duties with speed checking cameras.”
